Every year, the MWC24 takes place in Barcelona, showcasing the latest developments in mobile communications, particularly the future of mobile phones.
2024 is no different, so let’s look at the big stories coming out of MWC24 that will change our lives, personally and professionally.
Wearable Bracelet Phones
Both Motorola and Samsung have showcased a revolutionary concept: the wearable phone. Looking like a chunky bracelet, the screen wraps around the user’s wrist to enable one-handed use.
The phone can be folded flat and used conventionally. Only time will tell if the idea catches on and, more importantly, if the screen technology proves reliable.
Smart Rings

We’re all familiar with smartwatches, but the ‘smart ring?’ Samsung has its new Galaxy Ring at MWC24 and has samples on display.
The smart ring works with your smartwatch and phone to give readings on heart rate, respiratory rate, the amount of movement made during sleep, and the time it takes a person to fall asleep. In addition, Samsung may add a feature allowing the Galaxy Ring to make contactless payments.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)

We all know about AI; however, many of us have yet to see it used in a real and practical application. Already making itself felt in mobile technology, AI is being used for real-time translation, photography, health analysis, and circle-to-search, to name a few.
Battery Power

For many professions, battery power on the move is essential. For instance, 50% of the time, an electrician works with no power (as they are fixing or installing). As a result, battery life is a key consideration. At this year’s MWC, Energizer has announced a phone with a 28,000 mAh battery, eight times the size of an average phone!
Hundreds of innovations launched at MWC2024 will become our day-to-day communications, from more powerful processors to enhanced connectivity, security, physical protection, and environmental considerations.
At Chadwell, we keep up to date with technology changes so you can focus on your business.
